Friendly being Forgiving

For RE this week, we have been focusing on the virtue forgiving. Forgiving is when someone hurts you or be mean to you then you forgive them. It isn’t as easy as you say I forgive you, you still need steps to properly forgive, and so our task was to list down five steps to forgive. This is what I created.

Can you think of other steps to forgive?

Exploring the World

For Reading this week, our activity is to research on one country. I chose Guatemala where my great great grandfather is from. We had to recall some facts about our research and write it down on a template. This is what I did.

Do you know other facts about Guatemala?

Character Description

For the last week during Writing, we have been writing about Character Descriptions. I described my teacher with the ageing filter and myself under the same filter. I used Google Docs to make my story. In my story, it starts off as my old teacher being a librarian who likes Huckleberry Finn and I was a child who does not like Huckleberry Finn. And then he played a prank on me to read Hickleberry Finn. And I stopped all his prank for a while. I named the title Old librarian Mr. Gray. This is my story.

Old librarian Mr. Gray

I walked into the library one day and standing there was an old man. He greeted me in a grandpa voice. He then told me his name, Mr. Gray, his age, 87, and his favourite movie that goes with a book, Huckleberry Finn. To me, he looked like an old great great great great great great great great great great, you know, like a very, really old grandpa, who likes Huckleberry Finn and in my opinion, Huckleberry Finn is a killing movie. I never wanted to watch it and I never did watch it. He told me all about it but inside my head, I was blocking my ears. In other words, ignoring him. When he finished just telling the things about Finn Huckleberry thingy magingy whatsoever, I started listening, thinking he was finished. But I was wrong for he then started again. This time, he told me how much he loved it and how much I should watch it. I disagreed and said goodbye before he could continue being a pain to me as it was boooooooooooring.

On another day I came back again and found a new book laying on the library welcome desk waiting to be borrowed. And so I did. What a huge mistake since it turned out to be the newest edition of Huckleberry Finn. Suddenly, something behind me said ¨Gotcha to read Huckleberry Finn(heehee).¨ I jumped at the first word and I turned around. It was only a prank from Mr. Gray. I told him off for scaring me with a prank but he wasn’t listening. He even looked like he had turned to stone. You wouldn’t even tell whether he was alive or not. ¨Pranks at me again.¨ I said annoyed and frustrated. He still tells jokes these days but I stopped all his pranks. No more pranks!… until I grew up and partnered with him… PRANKS!

Prankster: Mr. Gray                Prankster: Me

Have you made stories using Google Docs before?

Artistic Drawings

For cybersmart yesterday and today, we created art using Google Drawing. So as for yesterday, we made 3D Name Tag art. Today, we made things related to Pentecost since today is Pentecost, the church’s birthday. I used just polyline on the name tag but used both polyline and curve for the Pentecost art. For the Pentecost art, I made a dove and a bunch of flames as the background on rainbow. Here is my work below of the name tag at the top and the Pentecost art at the bottom.

What can you do with Google Drawings?

Amazing Ascension Animation

As for R.E. this week. we have been learning about Jesus´ Ascension into heaven. We watched a video about it. Then our task was to make a comix strip or a animation explaining about the Ascension of Jesus. Most of my class did animation which included me. I made the animation by using both tools on Google slides and images I found on the web. I found it easy making the animation. This is my animation I created.

Can you understand what the animation is showing?

Creative Kiwiana Art

WALT: know how people respond in art.

This week, we have been learning about Kiwiana Art. Kiwiana is things that relate to New Zealand like the kiwi bird and the pukeko. What we had to do was to pick four Kiwiana things then trace it. I chose a kiwi bird, ice cream, rugby ball and a pukeko. I found those images on the internet by going onto Google Drawings and inserting onto the Google Drawings. Then I used the tools called Curve, Polyline, Zoom and Shapes. The Curve and Polyline to make most of the parts, Zoom to get the fine detail and Shapes to have the circle for the eyes. I enjoyed this task because I found it easy. This is what I created.

I also turned the kiwi bird, ice cream and the pukeko in stickers using the sticker machine at Turanga Library in City Center. This is how it came out.

What other Kiwiana icons do you know?

Easter Activities

Since the beginning of term 2, we have been working on our Easter Activities for reading. One activity is to complete a wordfind. To find the words, it says ¨If you find Jesus, you will find the rest of the words.¨ I have found 1 extra word, can you find the 1 extra? Here is the words I found.
