SLJ: Where’s Wally Animation

Today’s task for me is to create a PacWally animation as a Step It Up activity. I used a template for the task and added on to it. I found it fun thinking of what will happen next. My animation resulted like this.

In this animation, the character was a mix of Pacman and Wally. What combination/s can you think of?

  1. Kia ora Isa,

Anna here from the Summer Learning Journey. I loved your Where’s Wally Kick Start activity so much I thought I’d see how you did on the Step It Up activity.

What an awesome animation you made. I like how PacWally stopped to say things along the way. It was a bummer that PacWally was eaten by a ghost the first time but I’m glad PacWally won in the end. Good work including a description too. It would be awesome to see you adding details to your description. Consider writing a more detailed step by step guide of how you completed the activity. This will help teach others. Another thing you can think about is things you found interesting or difficult.

What a thoughtful question you put at the end of your post. What combinations can I think of? Hmmmm…What about a Christmas version? Maybe PacSanta? All the ghosts could be changed out for the Grinch? What do you think? Can you think of any other combinations that would be cool?

    Keep up the blogging Isa,

    1. Kia Ora Anna,
Thank you for your comments on my blog posts. I like your idea of using the Grinch. I was thinking maybe the Grinch from How the Grinch Stole Christmas has to be the ending while Max, his dog, has to collect all the presents back to him. The mayor could be the ghosts from his behaviour of teasing. The mayor would be also holding a shaver if you know the story. The Grinch would have to be on his sleigh. How do you like it? Have you watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas yet?

      1. Isa, those are all fabulous ideas. I am invested in this Grinch version of pacman now. Let me know if you do end up creating it. I wonder if there is any program where you could actually make a game so people could play it? Like scratch jr but different?

The Grinch who Stole Christmas is my all time favourite Christmas movie. I watch it every year. This year I watched it twice. Once with my class and once at home with my family. I do tend to watch the 2000 one instead of the cartoon one but I do like the cartoon one too.

        Which one do you watch?
