Today, I completed the last Summer Learning Journey task for this year. I feel very proud of myself because this is the first time ever, out of the 4 years I done it that I completed every single task this year. This is my badge board for the end of the Summer Learning Journey this year.
For this task, I used the photos from the Kick Start activity, and wrote facts about the bugs I found. I found some fun facts over the internet and put it in the template with the photos. These facts included each and every bug species I can find. I am sorry to say RIP to them in my chicken’s tummy. This is my mostly devoured work.
How do you feel when you achieve something you never done before?
Kia ora Isa,
It’s Mrs Stone from the SLJ again. I am just wrapping up the SLJ ensuring everyone has got points for all of the activities they completed. Mrs Grant will then tally up all of the points, allocate certificates and prizes and be in touch with your school in the next little while. I am sure you remember this from previous years. In Auckland we usually gave these certificates out at an assembly.
What an achievement completing every single post! I bet you are feeling proud of all of your mahi this summer. I am sure it will pay off when you return to school; your brain has been active this holiday! Looking back on the whole journey, do you have a favourite activity? I notice activities involving food and art have been very popular this year!
Ka pai for adding facts to your images and completing this final activity to your usual high standard. I know that your chicken would have been thrilled with this task as well!
I do hope to see you again in December for your fifth year of the SLJ!
Until then,
Ka kite,
Mrs Stone and the SLJ team
Kia Ora Mrs. Stone,
It’s Isa here. Thank you for your comment. I do remember getting surprise prizes and certificates from the Summer Learning Journey in our school assembly. My favourite activity this summer, like the popular, are the ones I could turn into food art, where I can present and devour my precious work. Even my dad enjoyed it (such as the edible swan this year and the edible fish last year). I do feel really proud, finishing all the tasks this summer for the first time in forever.
My chook indeed enjoyed her treats off my hand!
Thank you lots again for all the time, effort and consideration put into the Summer Learning Journey. It really made my holiday much more enjoyable than school. 😊 I am looking forward to see you and the team in December!
From Isa
