For this step it up activity, I created an editble rainbow fish with chocolates. I had a lot of chocolates left over from last Christmas, so I decided to use them as part of the rainbow fish scales. First, I drew the rainbow fish on a piece of paper and coloured some parts of it in, then place the chocolates on the body of the fish to make it looked like the scales and fins. You can probably guess how it will end as the scales and fins are made of chocolates… The rainbow fish will now share its shinny scales with me… YUMMY in my tummy. Here are my editable rainbow fishes, same paper but different scales.

First picture was showing the materials I used, second and third pictures were just showing the effect with different chocolates I used for its shinny scales.
Conclusion: I found the rainbow fish scales are very delicious, no matter which scales it shares.
Would you like a scale?
Kia ora Isa, Mrs Tofa here from the Manaiakalani team. Your blog post made me smile. Your idea for the edible fish scales is awesome. I bet a lot of people would be asking your rainbow fish for some scales. This is such a great blog post and I will mark it as an outstanding blog post. Well done!

Kia Ora Mrs. Tofa,
Thank you for your comment and for marking my work outstanding. I really enjoyed sharing the scales with myself, my parents, and my overseas family who came to NZ to visit me. Hope you have fun for the holidays and enjoy eating scales visually.

Kia Ora Isa,
this is such a great idea for scales, why didn’t I think of this? And so much easier to share than everyone taking a bit of a sticky lolly one. Thats a very creative way to make it. I bet if this was a real fish it wouldn’t have any scales left!
Do you have a favourite chocolate ‘scale’?

Kia Ora Ms. O’Neil,
Thank you for your comment and compliment. Maybe you are a great baker and likes lollies. Melted lollies sure are very beautiful to look at, so maybe the stained glass idea came into your mouth with pastries.
For me, I am a very poor baker, and I did not have the ingredients at home. I also don’t have a very sweet tooth, which means I don’t like lollies. You said to be inventive, and I definitely prefer chocolates over lollies. Your idea of tin foil collage made me think of the wrapping of the chocolate. As I said, last christmas I got a lot of chocolates. So I decided they could be the rainbow fish’s scales, which makes the rainbow fish edible.
I tend to like the blue and green scales, and possibly all of the square scales apart from the black one. The black square scale is coffee flavour. I shared the coffee one with the adults in my family in my house so I could take the rest 😋. All of them tasted gooood.
I really enjoyed this task. Thank you for creating it.
